WHO AM I?

My name is Ravi Tandon. I am...

A journalist. A marketer. A human-centered designer. A musician. Anything I wish in the moment.

I believe the core to design is a combination of creativity and a priority on putting people first. I always love pushing the boundaries and I’m always open to new ideas and exciting opportunities with the constant mantra of:

Why not?

PRODUCTION | @DESIGN

How might we tell inspiring stories about design around the world using our platform as an official Instagram page?

The design team at Instagram is guided by three values: craft, simplicity, and people first. This was my lens in my internship with @design.

What did this look like? I applied everything that I had learned in terms of research, content creation, analytics and growth for a relatively small and experimental team.

MARKETING | WEB DESIGN

How might we best optimize the online delivery business for local restaurants?

For my internship with Blueprint, we had one goal in mind: to put power back into the hands of restaurants owners. With this as my focus, my objective was to create unique & personalized websites and marketing strategies for brands that adhered to the true nature of the brand while being effectively curated for SEO.

How might we excite people to donate to support Chicago Public Schools?

As director of Local Outreach for Supplies for Dreams, a 501(c)(3) providing enrichment opportunities to students in Chicago Public Schools, my responsibility was to reach our audience at Northwestern and promote campus-wide engagement.

This involved working with other organizations, creating promotional material and organizing events that got the community excited to help a good cause.

UX DESIGN | MODE REMOTE

How might we reimagine parental controls in an iOS environment?

As part of an immersion program in the Bay Area, we were confronted with the question above. How can we allow parents to keep their child safe on the internet in a way that is fair to the parent-child dynamic?

The answer: think differently with the technology we already have.
