ADVERTISING
The Northwestern community is a robust one with new clubs and communities popping up seemingly out of nowhere. As Local Outreach Director of Supplies for Dreams, it is my responsibility to make our nonprofit well known throughout every niche of campus.
This is where the fun of advertising and fundraising come into play.
Below are two posters I made in Procreate and Illustrator for two music events we planned in 2019.
JAMS FOR DREAMS
Calling upon the plethora of talent on the Northwestern campus, we held the first Jams for Dreams event where we had student performers come to the student center and have their time on the stage for the a good cause.
Through reaching out to directors of multiple artistic organizations, I was able to book singers, dancers, classically trained musicians, painters and many more incredibly talented student to cover.
With this event in January, we were off to a head start on reaching our annual goal of $10,000 in donations.
MICK JENKINS
When an up-and-coming hip-hop artist from Chicago was announced as the Winter concert of NU, we reached out to the productions director to see if there was potential for a "win-win" situation.
Fortunately, they were willing to partner as they had heard of us through the previous Jams for Dreams event. Using this network, we created a partnership where all proceeds from the concert went directly to the Supplies for Dreams organization, where 98% of said money goes directly to Chicago Public Schools.
We hit our goal of $10,000 and are able to go into 2020 with visions of a bright future of programming.
FUNDRAISING
Fundraising never ends with just the fun events.
These are various designs I have created in my time as director in order to promote the Supplies for Dreams brand as well as incentivize people to donate.
The first 2 images are from a social media campaign my team and I launched where, if our members received a certain amount in donations throughout the quarter, they would complete certain challenges as a, "reward" for those who donated. I created two graphics, one for high value donations and one for lower value donations.
The second two images are promotional materials I designed to increase awareness of Supplies for Dreams and how people can get involved.
